![]() Applying to SwanseaApplication Procedure for September 2010The selection will be based on your GAMSAT score, the UCAS application form (i.e. academic achievement and personal statement) your academic achievement along with preformance at interview. I would like to emphasise that only those with a minimum of a 2.1 or above from the last degree (or predicted 2.1 or above) and those who have sat the GAMSAT are eligible to apply. Applications are made a year in advance of intended study. Therefore all applications must be made via UCAS the year before you plan to commence. i.e. if you plan to commence in 2010, you must have sat the GAMSAT in September 2008 and apply before the 15 October 2009. All applications must be made via UCAS. For more details on applying through UCAS, see the UCAS website. Deadline for application to medicine: 15 October 2009 Deferred EntryUnfortunately we cannot accept applications for deferred entry, again due to the restricted number of places available. However, if you do apply to Swansea for deferred entry we will endeavour to inform you within 10 days so that you can substitute us for another institution. Undergraduate StudentsIf you are an A-Level Student wishing to study Medicine, please contact our The Medical School at Cardiff University for more information. GAMSAT(Graduate Medical School Admissions Test)You are required to sit and perform satisfactorily in the GAMSAT test. You must apply for the GAMSAT test through GAMSATUK, this is a separate application and must be received by GAMSATUK by 14 August 2009. Late registrations will be accepted up to midnight BST on 28 August 2009, on payment of a late fee in addition to the registration fee. The GAMSAT test will take place on 18 September 2009. If you have previously sat GAMSAT, then you may use this score for your application. GAMSAT scores are valid for two application cycles – the year in which you sit GAMSAT and the following year. To apply for the GAMSAT examination please contact: GAMSAT UK Registration for GAMSAT opens: 5 June 2009 We will not be accepting scores from the GAMSAT Ireland sat in March 2010.
